Tagin
Smart QR tags that bring lost kids, bags and pets back home.
Overview
Attach a tag to anything that matters. When someone finds it and scans the QR code, they see how to reach the owner, and with one tap the owner gets the finder's location.
Each physical tag carries a unique QR code. Owners claim a tag to their account and decide what a finder sees: phone numbers, WhatsApp, social profiles, an address, links or a note. A tag can be set up for a person, such as a child, or for an item or a pet.
Behind the scenes, an admin console runs the whole tag inventory, from producing new tags to pausing, resetting or retiring them, along with user accounts and support.
Under the hood
The features that took real engineering
- 01
Scan, see, share location
A finder scans the tag, sees the owner's chosen contact options, and can send their current location in one tap. The owner is told at once, and the last known location is kept on the tag.
- 02
Claim a tag in seconds
New tags arrive unassigned. The first scan by a signed-in user claims it to their account, ready to be set up.
- 03
Hand a tag over safely
Ownership can be transferred to someone else by email. The tag is locked while the transfer is pending, the recipient accepts or declines, and unanswered requests expire after 24 hours.
- 04
A full tag lifecycle
Tags move through clear states: new, claimed, active, on hold, paused, disabled and in transfer. Admins can pause, resume or reset any tag without losing track of it.
- 05
QR codes that never go missing
Each tag's QR code is generated from its unique ID. If a code image is ever missing, it is regenerated automatically the moment it's requested.
- 06
Manage many tags at once
Families with several tags can update their contact details across all of them in one edit, and every scan is recorded.
- 07
Layered admin roles
The owner manages admins, and admins manage tags and users, with suspension, activity history and password resets.
